A puzzle game where you control a dung beetle
Not Without My Poop is a puzzle game in which the player takes on the role of a dung beetle who must roll a ball of dung to various locations. Along the way, they will have to avoid obstacles and traverse awkward terrain without falling off of their dung ball. If the player’s dung beetle does fall off, they lose their dung ball.
The core gameplay of Not Without My Poop is that of a rolling puzzle game, similar to Marble Blast Gold and Marble Skies. The control system differs in this game, however, because the dung ball is not moved directly by the player's controls but by the dung beetle running around on top of the ball.
Control a dung beetle
The premise of Not Without My Poop is simple; the player must control a dung beetle and help them get their giant (to them) ball of dung to the end of the level. The levels are filled with obstacles that must be negotiated, such as narrow pathways and roadblocks. The player must avoid losing control of their beetle and, as a result, their dung ball.
Simple controls, difficult game
The controls for Not Without My Poop are as simple as using the WASD or arrow keys to move in those corresponding directions. The difficulty comes from the fact that the player is moving the beetle, not the ball. Move the beetle left, and it will rotate the dung ball right.
Challenging to the point of frustration
Not Without My Poop presents an interesting take on this type of game, but not an easy one. The control scheme can be incredibly challenging and may prove too difficult for some players to enjoy.
